As things slow down towards the end of the semester, or during the upcoming holiday break, we hope that you will have time to enjoy reading, or listening to, a book. Stop by the media center to browse our displays and shelves; books checked out now will not be due until January 2018. We continually add to our collection, and KMH Media Center staff members are eager to provide assistance in locating something to capture your interest! If you want more over the break and cannot get to a library, try some of our digital options for leisure reading and listening. If you prefer to spend your extra time prepping for a standardized test scheduled for the upcoming semester, try our test prep resources.
Feast your eyes on our display of new books and check out enough to keep you reading through the November break! Let us know if you do not see something that suits your appetite, and we will either help you find it on the shelves or we will add what you would like to our next book order. Remember you can recommend books for us to purchase at anytime by using our online suggestion form. Thanks to Mrs. Garrett for creating the beautiful turkey for our display from an outdated book! We appreciate all of her creative displays.
West Cobb Regional Library is hosting a teen pizza party and author Skype visit on Tuesday, November 7th, from 1:30-2:30pm, to celebrate National Novel Writing Month (#NaNoWriMo). All Cobb students have access to Word Online, so the next time that you are working on a group project, try using a shared document to make life easier! See our instructions on how to create and share a document to get started. The same process can be used for sharing PowerPoint and Excel files. You may also share your document to get editing assistance from another student. We strongly suggest that you keep a personal back up copy of any work that you contribute to a shared document, so there are no regrets if something goes wrong.

After you identify something that you would like to read, search Destiny Discover or the KMHMC Book Collection to see if we have the book. If the book that you are looking for is not already part of the KMHMC collection, then use the Suggest a New Book for the KMHMC Collection link under the Leisure Reading section of ManeMedia.info and we will consider adding it to our next order. You will need the GALILEO password to search NoveList off campus, stop by the media center for password information, or find password assistance on the MC Info page of ManeMedia.info. See the Leisure Reading & Listening section on ManeMedia.info for easy access to NoveList along with links to access eBooks and audiobooks. KMH media center staff members will be happy to assist you with using NoveList to help you discover something new! Do you have a favorite author or type of book, but what you would like is not available in the media center book collection? Saw something you would like to read in a book store, but the KMH Media Center does not have a copy? Let us know about books that you would like us to add to our collection by using the Suggest a New Book for the KMHMC Collection form, linked under the Leisure Reading & Listening section of ManeMedia.info. Other students are likely to share your interests, so we want your input! Once the book arrives, the student who suggested the purchase will have the first opportunity to check it out. Please use the KMHMC Book Collection link on ManeMedia.info to access the search screen and see what books are available in the media center right now.
