Start your search to find the right audiobook for you at www.ManeMedia.info/audiobooks. Use your student ID as the library card number and your four-digit birthdate (MMDD) to borrow a book. Then enjoy, by using the Sora or Libby app on your phone. For assistance contact staff in the KMHS media center or call the CCPL support phone number listed on MMI’s audiobooks page.
Research studies indicate that listening to an audiobook has many of the same advantages as reading, plus some additional benefits. Enjoy free access to 1000’s of audiobooks in our collections and suggest a purchase if we do not already have what you want. See ManeMedia.info's More for Students - Test Prep section for a link to the official DOE study guides. You can also try the online test format or find other resources for a variety of test prep needs. Stop by the media center for assistance with any of these resources.
A fan of Kiera Cass’ The Selection series says “if you watch the TV show The Bachelor you will love The Selection books!” All five books in the series are available in the KMHS Media Center, or you can borrow the eBook or audiobook versions by searching with the author’s name in our Sora App. Looking for something different? Browse books available in our print collection by selecting your favorite genre in using Destiny Discover, or explore eBook and audiobook options linked under the leisure reading section of our library website at www.ManeMedia.info/#ebooks.
If you do not find what you want, you may request that we purchase a new book or series using our suggestions form. Student suggestions are our favorite way to build the KMHS library collection! We currently have a free trial for MLA Handbook Plus, a rich resource for finding citation examples and learning more about MLA Style. I have permission from the company representative to share my temporary login with students and staff. Students can find the login information in their CTLS Learn Announcements Feed, or stop by the Media Center for assistance.
Not sure where to start? My favorite page is Appendix 2, which has an extensive list of citation examples, use Ctrl+F and search a term, like post, or a phrase, like social media, to find relevant examples. Please let us know if you would like ongoing access to these resources! Feel free to email Dr. Bryan with any questions. The KMHS Media Center has all the materials that you need to create a handmade card to express your thanks to someone special. Ask library staff for assistance and we will show you the supplies at our Makerspace Workbench that will make your card unique. Supplies available for use in the Media Center include: colorful card stock paper, craft scissors with decorative edges, calligraphy pens in various colors, and fine quality art markers used for free-hand coloring. You may also use our Brother ScanNCut machine to produce cut shapes like the KM Monogram to add to your card. Pictured are some examples of the supplies and techniques you may use. The Thanksgiving card examples are black and white print outs of images which were colored in with art markers. Layering paper and shapes also makes a nice effect for cardmaking. Checkout our issues of Cardmaking magazine for more inspiration. Stop by the circulation desk for assistance getting started! Winners have been selected from the students who entered the correct citation for the APA Formatting for a Journal Article - Drawing Entry that was available in CTLS assignments from October 18-26. The correct entry appears below, along with the general formatting guidance for an academic journal from the APA7 References Quick Guide that is available on www.ManeMedia.info/#citations, where you can find a variety of citation formatting help. Lackmann, G. M., Miller, R. L., Robinson, W. A., & Michaelis, A. C. (2021). Persistent anomaly changes in high-resolution climate simulations. Journal of Climate, 34(13), 5425–5442. https://doi.org/10.1175/JCLI-D-20-0465.1 Most of the entries were submitted by students from Mr. Kienel’s Freshman Magnet classes who visited the library for lessons on formatting APA citations for different types of sources. Other students who noticed the assignment in CTLS and submitted correct citations were also entered in the drawing.
The following students who submitted correct entries have won a pair of ManeMedia.info headphones. You may stop by the media center to pick-up your prize, or Dr. Bryan may surprise you in class with a delivery. Congratulations! Deborah A. Odinakachi I. Kim P. Veeral T. Isabella V. Additional ManeMedia.info headphones are available in the library for students to checkout. Find them by the audiobooks or ask at the circulation desk. Our Welcome Back display at the start of the year had a beehive theme and we invited students to write their favorite books or authors on hexagon shaped post-it notes. Students and a few teachers filled up the board with many suggestions and the results are contained in an interactive word cloud produced on WordArt.com. Click the image below to view the Beehive Hexagon Cloud on WordArt.com, then move your mouse across the image to scroll through titles (best viewed on a computer). Thanks to Mrs. Matuszek for the engaging welcome back display and analyzing the data we collected. Manga is always popular as are Fantasy books!
Many of the titles we already own, but the titles we don't own will be evaluated for future book orders. If you ever want to suggest a new title for the Media Center, go to the Suggest a New Book form on ManeMedia.info under Leisure Reading and Listening. Stop by the Media Center to see Mrs. Matuszek’s creative display with a selection of books that relate to enchanted forests, woods, fairies, and a few creepy Halloween stories as well. Many of these are the original classics of your favorite childhood stories, like Snow White and Grimm's Fairy Tales, that have inspired so many popular Fantasy movies and modern books. Many of the tools in our Makerspace, along with upcycled materials were used to create the display. It's amazing what you can do with cardboard boxes, craft paper and tape! The trees were cut out of old cardboard boxes with an X-acto blade and matte on our large-surface Makerspace Workbench. The manual die cutters were used with craft paper for the leaves on the trees. The big storybook was hand drawn with colored pencil, and words printed in Old English font. On the back we used our new Calligraphy pens to write the title. The electronic Brother ScanNCut machine was used to scan the exact shape of store-bought glitter leaves to die-cut matching leaves out of the pages from a weeded book. An old branch from outside, colorful yarn and some store-bought twinkle lights give us all the Fall Feeling we've been waiting for. Check out all the digital Makerspace tools that are accessible on ManeMedia.info at www.ManeMedia.info/technology#makerspace or ask us about the tools we have at the Makerspace Workbench. Many thanks to Mrs. Matuszek for her inspired design and thoughtful work with our student aides to bring us her enchanting display! Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl membership is growing and there is still time to join the team! For more information about team activities, find the team info page linked from www.ManeMedia.info/more, or through the HRRB digital session in the ManeMedia class on CTLS. Start by reading one of the HRRB books over the Fall Break!

As part of the Learning Everywhere Program, all KMHS students have the opportunity to receive a Dell laptop and carrying case for instructional use at home and school. In order to participate in the program, the enrolling adult must opt in through ParentVue. Once the opt-in steps below have been completed, the student must pick up the laptop during 3rd block/lunch from the KMHS textbook room, which is adjacent to the cafeteria. To Opt-in
Students who opt in are assigned a new laptop while they are enrolled in the Cobb County School District and will be required to return the device upon graduation or withdrawal from the district. Your student will NOT receive a device unless you opt in. WHY SHOULD I OPT-IN?
See the documents attached below for additional details about how to opt-in for a student laptop.
